Authorized Training Institute
1) Certificate Validity
Foundation & Managerial certifications: Lifetime validity. No renewal required.
Note: Lifetime validity recognizes competence at the time of certification; candidates are encouraged to upskill to remain current.
All other IABAC certifications: Valid for 3 years from the award date.
2) Renewal Windows & Grace
Standard window: You may submit renewal from 90 days before until 90 days after expiry.
Lapsed > 90 days and ≤ 6 months: Renewal still possible but requires renewal exam.
Lapsed > 6 months: Candidate must retake the full certification exam for reinstatement.
3) Renewal Paths
A) CPD Path (Continuing Professional Development)
Earn 60 CPD units during the 3-year cycle.
Equivalency: 1 hour of eligible activity = 1 CPD.
If you do not meet CPD requirements, sit for the IABAC renewal exam.
4) CPD: What Counts
Education (learning):
IABAC Webinars, conferences, lectures by IABAC, IABAC Partners, or reputable bodies.
Contribution (giving back):
Speaking at webinars/events, mentoring, training delivery, authoring articles or case studies, and open-source project contributions in the domain.
5) Documentation & Audit
Proof required: Attendance/completion certificates, organizer confirmations, agendas, published links, or verifiable artifacts.
Audit rights: IABAC may audit any submission; falsified claims may result in denial of renewal or certificate revocation.
6) How to Submit
Compile CPD details (dates, activity type, hours, proof).
Submit via the portal: iabac.org/certification-renewal/renew (attach evidence).
Turnaround time: IABAC will confirm renewal status within 15 business days of complete submission.
7) Validity of CPDs
CPDs must be earned within the active 3-year cycle of the certification being renewed.
CPDs cannot be carried forward from prior cycles or claimed after expiry.
8) Ethics & Compliance
Activities must adhere to IABAC’s Code of Ethics and exam integrity.
Any misconduct during renewal (e.g., forged CPDs) can lead to suspension or revocation.
